What a Journey.....

We have arrived safely......what a great experience the plane trip was, the children did very well and we all got to sleep for 5 hours at one stage, legs and arms spread everywhere over four seats. The tv screen was a plus, with eyes glued to the screen for whenever it was needed, the children just loved it! We arrived in Toulouse at 12.00 on Thursday with the children falling asleep straight away in the hire car, so we could navigate our way out of the city and also drive on the wrong side....Sam did a great job, with a few close calls....but we made it to the small little villages that are dotted along the way to our little place....a smile and a deep sigh was exchanged between us as we realised we were in France! Our first stop was in a tiny little village, Carbonne, cute little homes with coloured shutters, a travelling circus, narrow streets, a wide river bubbling past, and no one to be seen.....it was two in the afternoon! The little shops did not open till three.
Speaking our little known french, a smile and arm gestures, we were able to buy some food and a bottle of wine then we found our little abode for a year, lit the fire, and cuddled our way to a big sleep!
