Had a family day out visiting a bigger village not far away, all rugged up in beanies, scarves and warm shoes. Enjoyed a caffe latte in the local square and watched life go on around us....the kissing on each cheek ( i love that! ), the joyous chatting amongst friends, and most people were carrying a baguette or similar, reminding me we needed some bread..Baguette in hand we strolled to the car and my baguette hit a pole and broke in half, it was so funny, there is even an art in carrying bread correctly.
The children love to spot the animals and seem to see different things to us, so our car journeys have been interesting and fun. When looking for some cows today they both turned the broken baguette into a telescope, by eating out the inside and peering through...who would of thought a baguette would have such a journey!
Feeling a tiny bit more confident in the french language, i get wound up in the beauty of the sound and forget to listen properly. Being the odd one out in the way you speak is quite confronting, but stirs you on to learn the language...one word or phrase a day is all my brain seems to soak in at the moment...a little bit more challenging when a child interupts you whilst ordering some lamb for dinner!
Oh Manni, it all just sounds so wonderful. I get such joy reading your words and thinking of your little family there together...and enjoying Sam being around all the time. Sending smiles to you. Glad you are all feeling good again. Siri and Guys are off to live in Norway for 4 months!!! So we are going to have more friends on great journeys to miss. Things the same here, weather getting much colder in the mornings, roosters trying to crow, nice walks to and from school with the girls xxx talk soon, Liv
