Aaah, a whole day to myself.....in my own home! The only job to do is wash dishes, then the rest of the windy cold day is for me....what to do? I will find time to read my book curled up with a blanket on the couch, maybe even have a long nap, have a good talk with my neighbour whilst eating walnuts and drinking tea, put some music on loud, start some knitting, write a letter, just sit and be, not being wanted by anyone!
The remoteness we have placed ourselves in has got rewards but also I miss the daily interaction you have with people if you live in a village. Our French is coming on slowly, with Stella and Ruben the only ones who can do the deep throat sounds that come with certain letters, and their favourite song is the alphabet song but in French....and many times a day a French word is used for counting or asking for something, with both children counting to ten in French..stella also loves to do maths, and is quicker than I am in answering in French.
We have also made friends with many English people, which inhibits our French language skills. So feeling a bit low in the language department, and wishing I could make more of an effort, but there is still time..........
The cosy couch is calling me, to snuggle up and read my book, occasionaly looking outside as the gusty winds blow off the yellow leaves of the acorn tree, and maybe drifting off into sleep, before waking to the chatter and play of children, the hugs needed, what to have for dinner, clothes off the line, the whining of tired children, making a fire, a red wine and deep talks with the husband.....oh it is so busy!
Only a few hours to go of just me and the noise of the wind, ahhh hear comes a big sigh.........
