Making good friends......

Ruben has a good little friend, and they take it in turns going to each others house, whilst the Mothers have a day to themselves......they are adorable together, they run off to the cubby with there wooden swords playing pirates and scheming wonderfully imaginative scenarios, read books together, say sorry if one gets hurt, hold hands for walks along the lanes, at one point I heard them saying, "...after capturing the pirates we will rescue the mermaids, and they will turn into beautiful fairies and we will dance with them......."
The imaginations of this age group is just lovely, and I feel blessed to be at home and hear these little conversations about how they will save the world!
Today was also my day for cooking lunch, for our picnic we have with 3 other families....we meet the children at 12 from school and walk across the road to a park and enjoy some wholesome food and company for 2 hours.....I picked my bright orange pumpkins from the garden and made a creamy apple and pumpkin soup with fresh crusty rolls laden with butter, and apple spice cake for dessert, washed down with a fresh coffee....was enjoyed by all.
The sun is coming up around 730am, and we often wake with the sun....rising to put the coffee on, the delicious aroma wafting upstairs, we make a cup for the bus driver, enjoy our breakfast, decide what to wear for the day, find our shoes, and we are all in the car by 845am! We drop Stella off to her School and she settles in with many hugs and kisses goodbye, then we drive 20 min to the village by the river where Sam is renovating a dwelling, and then it is Ruben and I hanging out till 5pm, when we do it all over again. Stella will soon be on the bus home......
Ruben and I don't mind the drive, we often chat about what is going on....an old Frenchman sitting on his bench with a smile and a wave, the tractors now ploughing the fields and the smell of manure wafting through the open window, sheds being built, a farmer burning off, horses with foals standing close by, snow on the mountains.....
