We all slept in this morning, as the day started with clouds and a chill to the air..so snuggling back down in the doona was a good option....spent some time reading books and talking before heading downstairs for breakfast at 930! I think the temperature varies so much because we are on a hill and the Pyrenees are not too far away..it reminded us of a Tasmanian Summer, with the changing of clothes throughout the day to adjust our bodies to the changeable weather..I don't think the sun came out at all, and our thermometer didn't get above 21 degrees.
We loaded the wheel barrow with a rake to collect straw from the top paddock, and the children both had a bucket with a tiny fish that we were letting out into the pond on the other side of the hill....up the sleep slope, past the hay bales, and to the pond, it is a bit overgrown, so we had a long plumbing tube that the children let there fish go down..was quite hilarious!
We all helped Sam in his garden, which has tomato plants taller than me...Stella planted some pea seeds and Ruben was enjoying digging a hole searching for a mole!
We enjoyed Spinach and feta parcels with a big green salad for lunch, and were amazed that we can eat so much lettuce from just 8 plants, but it just keeps growing...so its all good.
Sam made some fantastic wooden stilts for Stella and Ruben was very intent in helping Sam with everything....and pressing the trigger for the drill whenever he could with a glint in his eye!
This family day was much needed, for reconnection with each other, and enjoying some outdoor time...we also got our chicken house fox/weasel proof ready for the new chickens on Tuesday.
