The children wandered off all carrying buckets, brushes and rags to clean out the tree house in the donkey paddock.....whilst the adults sat in the shade drinking tea talking about an upcoming tiling job in there bathroom, life and children, whats growing in our gardens, books we have read, and the differences between English and Australian words.
We were enjoying afternoon tea at a friends house, they had 4 girls a few years apart, with one still suckling at the breast. The father was a Violin maker, and the eldest daughter was at a music camp in Barcelona. The mother was the central figure, with questions, decisions and wants being asked of her all the time, and always responding with a smile or a sigh....there were 2 woofers to help with daily chores and one was an Australian....there were chickens, donkeys, a huge vegie garden, dogs, and cats....it was organised chaos, with a lovely organic feel to it...and I felt quite relaxed and inspired.
